A zesty cookie that resembles a pinwheel.
3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/4 teaspoon red liquid food coloring
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 levels.
Prepare baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray.
Inside a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Beat within the egg yolk and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt progressively increase the creamed mixture and blend well.
Divide the dough in two and add some extract and red food coloring to 1 section.
Take four sheets of wax paper and unveil each part of dough between two sheets. Roll dough right into a 16×10-inch rectangle. Remove waxed paper.
Put the red rectangle over plain rectangle and roll-up tightly (jelly roll style), beginning having a lengthy side. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight or until firm.
Unwrap the dough and reduce 1/4-inch slices. Place 2-inches apart onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until set. Awesome completely.

1 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup red and/or eco-friendly candied cherries
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 levels.

Shape dough into four 8-inch rolls and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 4 hrs or even more or until firm.
Unwrap the dough and reduce 1/8-inch to at least oneOr4-inch slices. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 7 to eight minutes or until gently browned and also the edges are positioned. Awesome completely.
